Patrick is the Managing Director and Founder of the company.
Before founding Sun Capital Research, Patrick was a Vice President and Senior Equity Analyst with Nomura Securities. At Nomura, he specialized in telecom companies in Thailand and Korea and was instrumental in raising US$300mil in equity capital for Korea Telecom in 2001. He has also served with Asset Plus Securities (now Asia Securities) as Head of Research for Thai equities. Before working in equity research, Patrick managed private equity investments for the US$20mil Thai Development Capital Fund, US$25mil Beta Mekong Fund and US$75mil Beta Vietnam Fund. One of the investments that Patrick initiated (US$1mil in Ticon Industrial Connection, 1997) has returned in excess of 10 times its initial investment to Fund investors. Prior to moving to Bangkok in 1995, Patrick analyzed private equity and listed investments for a wealthy private investor in Hong Kong. He has also worked as a Senior Consultant with Price Waterhouse Coopers in Los Angeles.
Patrick specialized in finance at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, earned a BA in economics and mathematics from Claremont McKenna College and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
